Individual Therapy
One-on-one sessions in a confidential, nonjudgmental space. We'll work at your pace to understand patterns, build coping strategies, and move toward the life you want.
You don't have to figure this out by yourself. Whether you're navigating anxiety, healing from trauma, or simply ready for a change, therapy can be the space where things start to shift.
Every person's journey is different. Here are some of the areas I work with — but your concerns don't have to fit neatly into a category to deserve care.
One-on-one sessions in a confidential, nonjudgmental space. We'll work at your pace to understand patterns, build coping strategies, and move toward the life you want.
Constant worry, racing thoughts, or feeling overwhelmed? Together we'll identify what's driving it and develop practical tools that actually help in real life.
When everything feels heavy or pointless, it's not a personal failure. Therapy offers a grounded place to untangle what's going on and rediscover your sense of self.
Past experiences shape how you move through the world today. I offer a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes your safety, choice, and healing on your terms.
Career changes, relationship shifts, grief, or simply feeling "stuck" — major life transitions can be disorienting. Therapy can help you find your footing.
Difficult dynamics with partners, family, or colleagues? Understanding your patterns can lead to healthier connections and clearer boundaries.
I'm Marilyn Morris, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Chicago. I became a therapist because I genuinely believe that people are capable of profound growth — even when it doesn't feel possible.
My approach is collaborative and warm. I don't believe in having all the answers; instead, I work alongside you to help you uncover your own strengths and insights. Therapy isn't about fixing what's "broken" — it's about creating a space where you can understand yourself more deeply and make choices that align with who you want to be.
I draw from several evidence-based approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and trauma-informed care, tailoring each session to what you need in that moment.
Send an email or give me a call. We'll have a brief conversation to see if we're a good fit — no pressure, no commitment.
Your first session is about getting to know each other. I'll learn about your story, your goals, and how I can best support you.
Sessions are typically weekly, but we'll find a rhythm that works for you. Progress isn't linear — and that's okay.
The goal is always for you to feel more capable on your own. As we progress, we'll revisit your goals and adjust the plan together.
"The best thing I ever did for myself was decide to reach out. Therapy gave me tools I use every single day — not just when things are hard, but to actually enjoy life more."

I can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. Please reach out to discuss your specific plan and whether we can work together on that basis.
Yes. I offer both in-person sessions at my Chicago office and secure video sessions. You can choose whichever format feels most comfortable for you.
It varies widely depending on your goals and circumstances. Some clients find relief in a handful of sessions, while others benefit from longer-term work. We'll discuss this together and adjust as needed.
The first session is primarily about getting to know each other. I'll ask about your background, what brought you to therapy, and what you're hoping for. There's no script — just an honest conversation.
Absolutely. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. The only exceptions are mandated reporting situations involving safety concerns, which I'll explain in detail during our first session.
Taking the first step is often the hardest part. Reach out today — whether you have questions or are ready to schedule, I'm here to help.
